Mr Alan Kelly TD. Minister for the Environment and Local Government has established a committee to prepare a report under part V of the Local Government Act, 1991 into the most appropriate arrangements for local government of the City and County of Cork. The Committee will examine whether

    (a) the boundary of Cork City should be altered and if so recommendations with respect to the alterations of the boundary or

    (b) whether Cork City Council and Cork County Council should be unified.

Submissions to the committee have to be received by Friday 27th February 2015. A public meeting has been called by Crosshaven Community Association to discuss this very important issue which will have consequences for Crosshaven’s future as well as Cork City and County. It’s an open meeting so do come along and have your say.
